Opening of the exhibition The Poster Man with posters curated by Peder Stougaard accompanied by a reception of the book of the same name.
The Poster Man takes places in Gallery 1 and contains a selection from the more than 300,000 posters, which Peder Stougaard, who is also known as The Poster Man, has gathered for half a century.
In the exhibition, you will see a selection of exhibition posters from the exhibitions that Peder Stougaard has presented as the founder of the Danish Poster Museum. The majority of the exhibitions took place between 1993 and 2006 in the Aarhus Art Building, what we today know as Kunsthal Aarhus. The exhibition will also feature support posters, large posters featuring Hans Christian Andersen and Henry Heerup as well as some of Stougaard's own posters.
At the reception there will be speeches:
- Alice Faber: Chair of Tegneforbundet af 1919, which publishes the book The Poster Man
- Lise Seisbøll Mikkelsen, author of the book Poster Man
- Peder Stougaard
The speakers will take approx. 30 minutes in total.
In the café, you will be offered a light meal and coffee/tea, while Peder will sign copies of the book.
