KP23 & SPRING23

Hosted at Kunsthal Aarhus since 1970, the Artists’ Easter Exhibition (KP) is one of four state-sponsored juried exhibitions in Denmark. Since its establishment by the artist association UNG KUNST (young art) in 1947, KP’s main mission has been to create opportunities for artists to introduce to wider audiences not only their artistic practices but also some of the latest trends in contemporary art, independent of any artistic media and genre. Each year, emerging and established artists submit artworks to KP through an open call. A jury composed by Danish professional artists selects from the pool of applications the most ambitious and qualitative artworks. In 2023, they selected 59 works out of 1952 submitted artworks from 422 applications.

Established in 2004, SPRING is a talent section of the exhibition. It presents a handful of artworks by artists who made a strong impression in former KP editions.
